Tributes to Der Radetzky:
|
I knew Raddy when he lived in Massachusetts where I worked as barn help in my early 20’s. I did get the chance to sit on him for cool out walks. He was one of the most wonderfully sweet horses I’ve ever known. I am glad to know he had happy last years. How lucky you got to own him! He was something special. May he now run like the wind. I just looked at your website and saw the news about Der Radetzky! I know
you have been swamped with letters of sympathy, but I am so sorry for your loss.
My 2000 gelding, Cenwyn, is absolutely wonderful - gentle and beautiful. I
desperately want a broodmare with his bloodlines, and I guess I just thought he
would be here forever! Once again, all my sympathy.

| I just went to your website to see your ad for Katiane
and saw that your white stallion had died. I was shocked! He is the
sire of my now 14yr old Han/TB gelding who looks just like him and what a
sweetheart!! I even named him for his wonderful personality.
"De Bonne Aire" means of good temperament. My Condolonces,
Angela |

I am so sorry to hear about Der Radetzky. He has left a
wonderful legacy. I have especially heard what a wonderful temperament his
offspring have -- certainly that is the case with Dixie. Maureane |

I was very sorry to hear about your recent loss of Der Radetzky. He always
personified "Hanoverian" to me. A big, handsome horse with a
great mind and all kinds of athletic ability. It's good to hear that you
have frozen semen available for the future. You'll be able to remember him
every day in all those grays growing up in your pastures.

I was so saddened to hear about Der Radetzky. You just take for granted he
would always be around. He acted like he had an age exemption. I feel so lucky to have a few of his babies. The weekend of the Callin clinic he looked so happy out in his paddock. He was always a gentleman and that is rare for a stallion. He will always be my favorite .. so galant, so graceful, so beautiful. He was wonderful. ...Thank you for sharing him with us. He will be missed. Robin |

I was shocked when I went to your web page today and saw that Der Radetzky had
passed away. I had been meaning to write you about our mare by him, Raaz. After having two
foals for us the last couple of years, I started back in riding her. My endurance horse is off for this year in foal and I needed something to collect some miles on. I took Raaz out of the pasture 3 wks before our first ride ...figure we would just go to finish...she came in Top 10 on the 25 mile ride, I took her several weeks later to a 30 mile CTR...she came in 4th, a week after her sire's passing away she went to her first 50 mile ride and came in Top Ten. She is a super mare, she has had lovely well minded foals for us. We send you our sympathies, he was a wonderful sire. Leah |

| I was browsing your website, and so sorry to learn that Riverdance's grandfather
has passed on. What a glorious horse he was, and I must say his talent and gentle temperament are a
part of his wonderful granddaughter. Our progress has been slow but steady
-- but all is going well and in a positive direction, and I plan on showing her
later this summer. She is such a sweetheart, and very patient with me, as
my riding skills try to catch up with hers! Again, I am sorry to learn of
your loss with Der Radetzky. I am sure he is greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I just signed a contract
to purchase a Der Radetzky weanling on Saturday, (Dacryon, from Linda Woltz in
Ohio.) I think he will be everything that I could want, so... Der Radetzky will
live on in the dreams of others. Jan |

I just saw the news of Der R passing yesterday. I'm so sorry. What a loss
his personality will be - not only for you, but for the breed too... we always
wish that they never have to go. I have donated to the UFlorida Veterinary Teaching Hospital in his name. Shauna |

I heard this weekend of the passing of Der Radetzky and wanted you to know
how sorry I am to hear such news. My riding horse is a 6 y.o. Radetzky out of a TB mare and he is
my favorite horse. He is the kindest animal I have ever been around, there's simply not a mean bone
in the horse's body. And in that respect I think he's much like his sire. Der Radetzky's
legacy lives
on thru my horse and others. He was a very special animal. Sincerely, Charleen |

I'm so sorry that I didn't come to see him one more time. He was our
favorite
and we are sorry for your loss. As bad as we feel, I'm sure you feel like
someone in your family is gone. Your tribute to him on your website
was beautiful. Dolly |

That is the saddest story I have ever heard. My mouth literally dropped open
when I read your e-mail. I do so hope that Tess is bred. She will be able to
carry on his legacy in one of his foals. He was so wonderful and I know he
will be remembered each and every day. Shell |

I just heard about Der Radetzky and I want to wish my deepest sympathy for your
loss. I am really enjoying my foal out of him. She has such a wonderful attitude and is a
quick learner. She stands 16.1/2 hds at just over 2 years old. Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. He will be
sadly missed. Sue |
