Pedigree:

Arrian is a 16.2 hand, dark bay Elite Hanoverian Stallion born in 1992. He is by Al Capone who is a highly regarded Celle stallion and member of the Celle Stallion Quadrille. HIs sire,  Argentan was known for producing dressage and show jumping horses, but his best produce were most successful in the show jumping arena - most notably World Cup winner, Aramis, and German Jumping Horse Champion, Alcazar. His mother line is all Thoroughbred on the top line backed up by a Weiler/Lugano dam.

Arrian is Licensed by: American Hanoverian Society
                                   Verband hannoversher Warmblutzuchter
                                   International Sporthorse Registry/Oldenburg North America
                                   German Oldenburg Verband

We are proud to be standing Arrian here at Woodridge Farm on behalf of owners, Marefield Meadows, Warrenton, VA.

Performance:

Arrian received his first public notice in Der Hannoveraner which stated that he "captivated his audience with his outstanding trot" at his 1994 Korung in Verden.  In his 100-Days Stallion Testing he scored 8's and 9's on character, temperament and willingness to work.

In 1995 he was Young Horse Champion and winner of the Hanoverian IBC at Port Jervis. In 1997 Arrian was Grand Champion at NEDA, where he received an overall score of 92% from judges Hilda Gurney and Marianne Ludwig.

When Arrian first came to Woodridge Farm we presented him at the GCC/USDFBC Breed Show Qualifier. He won the Hanoverian Hi-Point Award and was Champion Stallion and Champion Mature Horse thereby qualifying for the Mid-States USDF/Cosequin Championships. Here, Arrian was Champion Stallion and Reserve Champion Mature Horse. (An interesting aside - The Champion Mature Horse was the Hanoverian mare, Destine (Davignon/Weltmeyer/Matcho) bred by Marefield Meadows, Warrenton Va and owned by Dr. Deborah Davenport, Lecompton, KS . In Third Place for the Mature Horse Championship was the Hanoverian mare Lambada (Lemon Park/ Cavalier/ EisenherzI)  - both Destine and Lambada were in foal at that time to Arrian!)

Since Arrian has been here he has demonstrated much potential as a hunter and was last shown by our trainer Verena Stock at the American Royal in Kansas City last year in First Year Green Working Hunters - he was third in the Classic at that level for the Region.

Progeny:

Arrian's first foal crops also received official recognition.  In 1996 the inspectors commented: "It is hard for us to imagine a better first foal crop for any young stallion". Of the eight foals of that first crop, one, Aldebaran, was Champion of his inspection and another, Alcatraz, was winner of the Colts of 1996 at NEDA.

In his summary of the of the 1998 inspection tour published in The American Hanoverian, Dr. Burchard Bade of the VhW said of the second crop representatives he had viewed at one site: "Eight very good foals by Arrian each received individual marks of 7 and above by the author." Additionally, three Arrian foals were Champions at other inspections across the US that same year.

In 1999 at the Raleigh show, Athene Nike won the 3-year old Filly Class and was Reserve Filly Champion and Atail won the 3-year old Colts and Geldings and was Reserve Young Horse Champion.  These two formed the pair that captured the Get of Sire prize for Arrian at the same show. Athene Nike earned her Elite Mare Candidate status in 1999.

At the 2000 Virginia inspection two of the three Arrian foals presented were selected for the review ring. One of these was named best filly overall. In 2003, Annual Review was Champion Mare out of nine hanoverian mares presented at Honey Locust Farm, NC; and Andromanche was inspected and completed her Mare Performance Test to earn her EMC status at Hilton Farm, VA. Later that year, Andromanche won the 3 year old Fillies class at Morven Park and was Reserve Champion Filly.

Arrian chalked up another success with his daughter Arriana. She was named the top filly by Dr. Wilkens at her foal inspections and as a three year old won the Hi-Point Hanoverian Award and qualified for the USDFBC Finals at the KCDS/USDF Qualifier. She was Third in the USDF Mid-States Young Horse Finals. Arriana was also the high-scoring mare at her AHS Mare Performance Test in 2001 and is now an Elite Mare Candidate. She is out of Livia (Lemon Park/Bolero) owner/breeder: Woodridge Farm. Arriana won many High-Point Awards in dressage competition and showed through Third Level before joining our broodmare band.

In 2004, Arkadia owned and bred by Debbie Davenport, DVM did very welll in Breed Show competition:  At the Cornuhusker Classic Cosequin/USDF Breeders Series Qualifier, NE in June she was Reserve Filly Champion, Reserve Young Horse Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. At the KCDS Cosequin/USDF Breeders Series Qualifier in July, she was the Reserve Filly Champion and the Hanoverian IBC Class winner. At the West Central Cosequin/USDF Breeders Series Qualifier, IA in September she was Filly Champion, Young Horse Champion and Reserve Grand Champion (to her dam, Destine) and at the Regional Finals she was Filly Champion. In 2005 she was High Score Hanoverian at her mare inspections.
